Links
Broken down between Technical and Non-Technical.
Technical Links:
Anti-virus:
Grisoft offers a free anti-virus scanner for home use. TechTernatives is an Authorised Reseller for AVG Commercial Virus Scanner. Please contact us for prices.
Remote Support:
TeamViewer seems to be a great way of helping others with their computer, remotely. TeamViewer has versions for both Mac and Win32. Please check them out.
EchoVNC may also hold some promise. We have not checked it out yet, but reports indicate it is worth a look.
Back-up:
We feel MondoRescue is the premier open source back-up solution for all flavours of Linux/Unix. At TechTernatives we use it for backing up all our servers.
We are leading a project to provide an open source back-up solution for Win32. Please check back often to see when we launch. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please contact us.
Linux:
Want to try linux, but don't have a machine to dedicate to it? Try Knoppix, a distribution of Linux that runs from a CD/DVD. The Knoppix web site touts: "FROM ZERO TO LINUX IN 5 MINUTES".
Need an enterprise-class server? You can't get better than CentOS. We recommend CentOS for all our clients' servers.
Compression:
PacByte is a bleeding-edge technology company specialising in software compression and video streaming.
Non-technical, but interesting:
Rotary:
We are highly involved in Rotary. We belong to the Rotary Club of Hornsby.
I am setting up a couple sites, one of which will be a one-stop shop for Rotary Program information. (Currently being populated with relevant information.)
Clients & Friends:
Want your children to really learn how to play music? Contact International School of Music, with locations world wide and growing.
